why flies?

Towering trees' brown bark against vibrant green grass...

A gorgeous breeze flowing through my peaceful office...

Vanilla essence wafting around me from the rattan sticks on the counter...

And there's this FLY buzzing around my head.

The fly is the tell for me.

When I'm emotionally rested I can smile and chuckle. When my emotional margin is too thin, the fly absorbs all my attention. It's all I see, all I hear.

This afternoon, I'm smiling. But late last night I was wondering what GOD WAS THINKING when he made the little buggers.

Thank God for a good night's sleep...and fly swatters.

OK...this has absolutely nothing to do with the annoyance of flies and everything to do with the past 75 minutes of my life. I've just finished listening to the talk you gave on the "9 Woes for this Generation." Going in, I thought I could get a "quick word" and then move on with my night. Instead, my idea of quick was replaced by God's idea of necessity, and I am undone by the power of his message via your lips.

Woe #1, #3, #9 immediately jumped out, but truly, I found myself somewhere within each one.

Alicia, this is a profound teaching. It transcends the intented audience (college kids) to become a needed word...across the board...for this generation--young and old and for those of us somewhere in the middle!

Is this available for purchase on video or CD? You said it's a message you don't want to have to deliver again, but quite frankly, I'd love to hear it again via a book or study of some sort. I want to share it with others.

You are profoundly gifted...in tune with the Spirit of God, and he has scripted your words with a sacred perspective that penetrates into the marrow of my need. You light the way to our Father, and I am so thankful for your ministry in my life.

Keep writing. Keep speaking. Keep your heart and your passion to the fire of God's will for your life. I want to know God more because of your obedience to him.
