spiderman princess

I know I just blogged about my fabulous daughter, but I must paint a picture for you of what I am seeing through my office window.

Keona is walking with her daddy outside--they normally walk together in the mornings. Today, Keona is dressed in her big brother's red and blue spiderman costume complete with bulging muscles. On her feet she has pink rain boots and on her head she has a silver princess crown.

My dear spiderman princess is also smiling ear to ear as she holds her daddy's hand and looks up at him with wonder.

These moments are beyond beautiful. Often in these moments I breathe a prayer of blessing over Keona's birthmom. She chose to give Keona life. And she chose to give Keona the opportunity to have an incredible daddy who treasures her, protects her, and treats her like the princess she truly is.

As I watch Keona grow from day to day I know beyond a shadow of a doubt: that choice will change the world.

I can't get enough of that image...it simply won't get old. I also know what a perfect picture of the blend of little girl's personality that is: so sweet & feminine with the princess crown...but I also wouldn't mess with her. Pretty soon her "bulging muscles" will take me! :)

Not all moms stop long enough to absorb such wondrous (albeit simple) happenings in the lives of their children. It's a great reminder that the little ones are often our best teachers, if not our greatest source of entertainment!

I found you by way of Elaine at Peace for the Journey. She just loves you and is giving away one of your books on her blog. Too cool!

I love this story as I can see my baby girl (11 months on August 4th) already becoming a daddy's girl. Who am I kidding? She was a daddy's girl before she was even born! hahaha And a princess of the King might I add! Again, I really loved the story...thanks for sharing!

Prayers and blessings,
Rebecca

What a lovely reminder...I need to remind m'self often to slow down and perceive the tiniest blessings around me. It's so easy to let them slip away unnoticed.

Your words are beautiful as I read of your sweet daughter. It's quite the picture of us with our Papa God. We come to Him just as we are, mixed matched and He just gathers us up and loves on us. The picture of your little girl with her daddy caught up in the wonder of the walk...what a beautiful picture of me with my Papa God.

Thank you for this picture today. My sweet girls are all grown up, except for my 11 year old. Two of my 3 are headed overseas on missions trips. The days of dress up long gone...a faint memory....

Hug her tight, the days seem to fly by in warp speed.
