book release day!
Over 25 years ago, I offered my fragile life to Jesus as a love gift in response to his enormous, overwhelming proposal to me, his invitation to believe. Today, his story in my life is released in book form.
I feel grateful, humbled, vulnerable, hopeful, tender.
I feel quite literally covered in prayer, as though a beautiful yet resilient banner has been stretched over our family.
And most wonderfully, I feel as though I'm standing shoulder to shoulder with dozens of friends who all along have encouraged me to risk speaking and risk writing what God has placed in my soul.
Much love and much gratitude to you all today.

Congratulations, Alicia. May God be honored, and many be blessed, by your words.
Yay!
Congratulations, Alicia! I am looking forward to reading the book. I posted it on my blog, with a link to your site. I don't get a lot of traffic to my site (mostly my friends and relatives), but I hope someone will come visit you and check out your book!

Blessings to you!

My mom bought the book at JRA in April. I've been reading it and I brought it on purpose to work with me in hopes that it would be a conversation starter. It was! After a conversation with a couple co-workers I left it lying intentionally on the counter. It wasn't long before I caught someone sneaking a peek at it!
I'm desiring that many seeds are planted and that God gives the increase.

Hi Alicia,
I discovered the ad for your book today on the Baker Books website. I was instantly drawn to it, and can't wait to read it in its entirity. The idea immediately occurred to me that this book would be ideal to use as the centrepiece of a small group, ideally composed of roughly equal numbers of theists and atheists. There is certainly a need for an engaging book to fill this niche!
And in particular, I praise your courage in articulating your own charismatic experience in a clear, credible manner, with intellectual integrity, in a way that respects those who have not yet had such experiences. As one who has had similar 'uninvited' experiences in my own life after periods of scepticism, I know how hard it is to craft a testimony that does justice to both the intellectual and spiritual aspects, but also how rewarding it can be if both of these aspects can be maintained. Thankyou for having the courage to put pen to paper in this way.
Blessings,
