real life, real pain, and a real GodDescriptionThis 3.5 hour series will encourage any soul. But over the years several groups have described Real Life as a life-saver: leaders, those who have been wounded in the Church, and those who are struggling with the goodness of God. In this insightful but intensely practical series, Alicia examines disillusionment not as failure but as the "painful gaining of reality about God, ourselves, and each other." reviewsI was very moved by God through the message on disillusionment. I listened to it over and over. The word of God really touched my life...People here are still talking about that message!
I had the opportunity to listen to your series on disillusionment. It was really a blessing that broadened my understanding on personal issues. I refer to your notes often in quiet times. In conversation, my friends think I'm an "Alicia Chole nut," but so many things you said really hit home with me. Well, in short, I wanted to tell you that I thank God for you. It was a pleasure listening to an anointed woman of God that had such a sweet spirit and even a sense of humor!
I was at church last spring when you gave your teaching regarding disillusionment and recently asked the church for a copy of it, because it meant so much to my husband and myself. Out of that word you shared on that day, we began working with a ministry to poor kids. We have discovered healing in going beyond our grief.
I attended the women's retreat in October at Mt. Hermon Conference Center in Scotts Valley, CA. You spoke on disillusionment. You had a lot to say, or rather God had a lot to say to me through you. In a nutshell, I was very blessed by your ministry and am working through some issues in my life. I know that God has a special plan for me, my marriage and family. The healing processes are beginning and I am rejoicing for the little things along the way. You speak with such a sparkle when you speak about our Heavenly Father. Thank you for being so in love with Him and showing me what it's like to have such a relationship.
