sitting in God's sunshineDescription"This is a book I'll turn to again and again." Kay Arthur, www.precept.org Neither optional nor outdated, not a relic of the past or available only in retirement, rest is an essential part of God's daily rhythm for our lives. Sitting in God's Sunshine echoes an invitation Jesus gave to us thousands of years ago: "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." Mark 6.31 Away from the noise, away from the crowds, away from the rush and the loud voice of need. Jesus calls us to come away with Him. The change we all long for is not found in going faster. Lasting transformation is the fruit of resting in God's love. details
reviewsOne of my greatest problems is my heart – a heart that gets carried away with loving people, with wanting to bless them, and consequently finding it hard to say "No" – or feeling guilty when I do! My other major problem is I think I can do more than I can. Both of these came into play when I shared the platform with Alicia, heard her speak and realized how much she loved the Lord and His Word. When Alicia asked if I would write the foreword to her book – I said yes. How could I resist?!? I was taken by this dear woman – of course I would. When the manuscript arrived in the midst of an overwhelming schedule I thought, "What have I done?" Out of duty – not delight, I picked up the manuscript. I was relieved when I saw that it was a compilation of short insights on different topics. I formed a strategy for getting it read – but it was unneeded. The minute I started to read my heart and soul were taken captive. As Alicia began to minister to me with her incredible insights into my Father's precious Word, I knew it was of God that I said yes. I read in awe. I thought, "I wish I could write like this – so succinctly, so powerfully, so practically!" It was immediately apparent that Alicia had spent hours at our Father's feet, that she had worked through the text studying it and internalizing it – and that I, like you, dear reader, would be the blessed recipient of what this precious woman had so bountifully harvested from God's bread of life, the Word of God. This is a book I'll turn to again and again...it could become a classic.
